Motorhomes, campervans or caravans are allowed. All Vehicles must be fully self contained: Your RV must have an interior toilet and built-in holding tanks for waste water. Portable toilets (like Porta Potti) are acceptable but must be dumped off-site at an appropriate facility (unless if available at your host). The dumping of any gray water on host properties is prohibited (unless specified on the host presentation). You must have interior cooking facilities. Prohibited: Tents, sleeping in cars or trucks.
The hosts are first and foremost farms and wineries and do not provide the services that you would find at a campground. However, a large number of hosts offer water and a small number do offer electricity. Some have an outside tap and/or somwhere to drain grey waste water. Very few have facilities for toilet waste disposal. This will be listed on the host information page and may include a charge.
You must book ahead with the App. Then call before your arrival. Please call the number listed on the host information page and ask for the contact listed to ensure you speak to the correct person. By calling ahead, you can ensure that the host is open and can accommodate you, can tell you if there is a special entrance and can be specific about where you should park when you arrive.
We understand that many RVers travel with adaptable plans so that they have the flexibility to change their routes. With this in mind, we have designed Agricamper Italia so that you need only contact the hosts to get permission before you arrive, even if it is the day of (always from the App). If you like to plan out your trip and stick to an itinerary, you can book a date to visit no more than 7 days in advance. As the hosts are not campgrounds, they do not have reservation systems and are unable to “reserve” dates months in advance. If you change your plans, please delete the booking on the App so that they are not waiting for you to arrive as scheduled.
A purchase is welcome to show your appreciation to your host for the hospitality. This is their only compensation for allowing you to park overnight. You’ll enjoy buying local products and you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that you’re helping a small business grow and thrive. If you don’t see anything for yourself, please consider purchasing a gift for a loved one.
Nearly all of the hosts permit pets on a leash. Specific instructions may be on the host information page. Respect that you are on private property and do not allow your pets to run free. Please note that many of our farms have working animals and ask the host what is acceptable. Your pet may be friendly but other animals may see it as a threat and react accordingly. Be sure to be a responsible pet owner: collect the droppings and rinse the urine.
Membership is personal and linked to a vehicle. It is not transferable. Each vehicle needs an Agricamper Italia membership in order to stopover at the network’s host. A membership is sufficient for a vehicle unless you share the vehicle with other people.
The parking surface might be concrete, asphalt, gravel, grass or dirt. You may be in the courtyard, in a field, orchard or vineyard. This will be listed on the host information page and you can verify this when you call to let them know you are visiting.
One reason is that they do not have to provide any facilities over and above a parking space. However Agricamper Italia hosts are also passionate about the local produce they offer to the public, and the more visitors they have the better the chance they have of spreading the word about fresh, sustainable produce. Although they will not oblige you to buy from their shops, they are confident that when you see the quality of their wares and experience the personal service offered by the producer/retailer, you will find it difficult not to purchase! Even if you do not buy anything your positive experience will be spread, and this will bring more customers. The only thing you may be charged for (and you may not, but don’t forget to ask) is services like water, electricity, swimming-pool… if it is provided.
